How to use NitVibes
What is NitVibes?
NitVibes is a PWA (Progressive Web App): it runs in the browser like a native app, no download required. You can add it to your home screen from the browser menu and open it anytime, online or offline.
Real data, processed for you
The signals on the radar come from public and private sources: TMB (real-time metro), public bikes, Barcelona urban cameras, weather data from Open-Meteo, the municipal cultural calendar, and events from Ticketmaster. We process them with our VibeIndex algorithm to give you a live read of the vibe — not what happened yesterday, but what's happening right now.
And what will happen in a while
Knowing how an area is right now is little help if it takes you half an hour to get there. So NitVibes also predicts: a time-series model (Google's TimesFM 2.5) reads months of city history and estimates how each area will be over the next few hours.
The radar time slider
Above the map you'll see "now · +1h · +2h · +3h". Move it and the circles recalculate: you can see which areas light up first and which hold on when the others are already fading. If an area has no reliable forecast for that hour, it dims instead of making a number up.
The margin, always visible
Every forecast carries its confidence band. A narrow band means the model is sure; a wide one means it isn't. We'd rather show the doubt than give a round number we don't fully believe.
We predict the city, not you
The model never sees a person. It does not use your history, your profile, or what you did last Saturday: it learns from aggregated cameras, metro arrivals, the municipal calendar and weather. All open city data. That is why the forecast works just as well the first time you open the app.
LucIA, your travel companion
LucIA is NitVibes' AI, built on Anthropic's Claude. By night she guides you: recommends venues, tells you how busy an area is, or plans your evening based on your style. By day she's also there: for questions about neighbourhoods, opening times, or how to get around.
And when she doesn't know, she says so
When the city signals aren't conclusive, LucIA doesn't pretend. Instead of deciding for you, she offers a couple of options and asks. We'd rather give an honest question than a confident recommendation that's wrong.
